Hirsch Closson has extensive experience in first-party claims including bad faith prosecution and defense, appraisal and appeals in both commercial and personal lines matters, including representation of amicus curiae in the seminal decision regarding enforcement of collapse exclusions in Rosen v. State Farm Gen. Ins. Co. (2003) 30 Cal.4th 107. We have litigated complex business interruption and extra expense claims in the context of bad faith (Trident Web Offset, Inc. v. Employers Mutual Cas. Co. (2003) 2003 WL 21291039) and alleged bad faith relative to suspicious theft claims (California Roof Savers, Inc. v. Employers Mutual (2005) 2005 WL 408033).

Hirsch Closson has represented insureds and insurers in commercial property disputes  relative to issues ranging from subsidence to contamination of stock. Mr. Closson of the firm authored the section concerning “First Party Coverage” in Miller’s California Construction Defect Litigation – Residential and Commercial (2d Ed. 1993 Wiley Publications).
