Our San Diego Office

Callie O’Hara grew up in Utah, earning dual undergraduate degrees from Utah State University. She later earned her law degree in 1992 from Pepperdine School of Law. She has over thirty years of insurance coverage litigation expertise.

Callie’s legal career began in Los Angeles, where she gained significant litigation experience at two large defense firms. She initially defended insureds in construction defect and product liability claims, later transitioning to Law and Motion where she honed her persuasive writing and oral argument skills. Later, she became a valued member of both firms’ insurance Coverage Practice Groups.
Since 1995, Callie has specialized almost exclusively in insurance coverage and bad faith litigation. In 2000, she started her own boutique coverage litigation firm, serving as the firm’s Managing Senior Partner for ten years. The firm, through its sixteen coverage lawyers, represented clients throughout California in a variety of insurance related matters, including the successful litigation of several bad faith trials.

In 2010, Callie joined Farmers Insurance Exchange as a coverage specialist, successfully managing all nationwide bad faith claims arising under Farmers’ commercial business line. She later transitioned to Farmers’ staff counsel operation as a Divisional Attorney supervising over seventy attorneys.

She then became the Department Head of Process and Strategy overseeing the law office management of Farmers’ fifty-three separate law firms in twenty-six states. In this capacity, she oversaw and negotiated all national vendor contracts, including offices leases and software. During Covid, she successfully managed the virtual transition of the nationwide staff counsel operation, including over eight hundred lawyers and staff. Callie retired from Farmers in December of 2021.

Callie spends her spare time outdoors. She is an avid hiker, mountain biker and kayaker who recently discovered fly fishing.
