Mr. Hicks graduated from the University of New Mexico in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and earned a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law in 2014.

Prior to joining Hirsch Closson, APLC, Mr. Hicks worked as an associate with a San Diego coverage firm representing policyholders in the evaluation and litigation of insurance coverage matters, as well as contractors in various types of construction disputes. Such representation extended to all types of participants in the construction industry, from regional and national homebuilders, to commercial and residential general contractors, specialty contractors and design professionals. His work involved a wide variety of first- and third-party policies, including commercial general liability, excess and umbrella, builder’s risk and property, directors and officers and professional liability policies.

Mr. Hicks joined Hirsch Closson, APLC in July 2018 as an associate, where he concentrates in insurance coverage litigation, “bad faith” litigation, coverage related matters and appeals.

Mr. Hicks is a member of the California State Bar, the Arizona State Bar and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District courts for all of the Districts of California and the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is currently serving his second consecutive term as Vice Chair for the Insurance/Bad Faith section of the San Diego County Bar Association after previously serving two terms as Chair.
